Tandem - Accelerated Freefall  - Static Line

Tandem

Tandem is the safest, easiest and quickest of all first time skydiving methods. You will be attached to your skydiving instructor by an FAA approved harness specially constructed for tandem jumping. After only 15 minutes of training you will exit the aircraft from over two miles above the ground! You and your instructor will free fall for about a minute!.

The canopy is then deployed beginning you and your instructors slow descent to the landing area.  Both you and your instructor will fly the giant canopy to a soft, stand-up landing on the airport.

On the way to altitude you will be treated to a spectacular aerial tour of the Royal Gorge Bridge and stunning views of the Rocky Mountains and Sangre De Cristos adding even More Value to an already great deal!  Cost of a Tandem Skydive.

Accelerated Freefall Training

With AFF your  first jump is a minute long freefall made with two Jumpmasters who will provide direct assistance during the exit and the freefall portions of the jump. Once the students  parachute is deployed, the Jumpmasters deploy their own parachutes, and the student makes a solo canopy descent. This method also requires the completion of extensive ground school before the jump. The advantage of this method is that the student receives assistance during the actual jump, and the learning curve tends to be steeper as a result.

AFF jumps are normally made from at least 11,000 feet. This allows for freefalls of 50 seconds or longer. Upon reaching your deployment  altitude, you will deploy your own parachute and  steer it  to the designated landing area.

Static Line

Static Line was the first course invented for teaching the sport of parachuting. Developed in the 1960s, the course is primarily about parachuting, with a gradual lead up to freefall. All jumps are made solo, with your Instructor dispatching you from the aircraft. For the first 4-8 jumps of the course your parachute is opened immediately as you leave the aircraft.

This course is a 25-jump program, with the first jumps commencing from 3,500 feet. Over a series of jumps, you eventually go to a higher altitude and experience some freefall. Again, your Instructor is in the plane, not jumping with you.

If you are considering a Static Line program you should download and study the Skydive The Rockies! Student Guide located in the Student Resources section.  Cost of Static Line.

NOTE - Every single one of our student rigs are equipped with a state of the art Automatic Activation Device (AAD).  When looking for a place to jump ALWAYS make sure that the company is using the best AAD available! Ask if the rig that YOU will jump has a CYPRES AAD.
